A programme of free events in Hastings and St Leonards from September to January

Heritage Plus in association with the Stade Education Project and Hastings Museum have organised an exciting programme of free events between September 2009 to January 2010 for people to learn about the history of the fishing industry in Hastings.

Events are being held on Fridays, are open to all and begin on September the 25th at the WRVS Isabel Balckman Centre in St Leonards-On-Sea. Please see below for the full details of the programme.

Friday 25th September 2009
10am until 12.30pm
Isabel Blackman WRVS Centre, South Street, St. Leonards-on-Sea

Film Screening of Archive Film Footage of the Stade
(the fishing area of Hastings Old Town) from the early 1900s.

With an introduction by:
Yasmin Ornsby of the Fishermen's Protection Society and Beatrice Rapley, Stade Education Officer.

Participants will be invited to share their thoughts, memories and stories after the screening with the group.

Guided walk of the Stade (the fishing area of Hastings Old Town)

Staff from the Fishermen's Museum in Hastings Old Town will bring a 'Loan Box' of fishing related museum artefacts to the centre for participants to touch, see, smell and talk about.
